The MTV Stuttgart must worry about moving into the quarter-finals of the volleyball champions League. The crux of the matter was the third round, in which almost 90 points are played.

The MTV Stuttgart lost the playoff first leg in the Champions League against KS Developer Rzeszow 1: 3 (21:25, 25:22, 43:45, 20:25).

MTV trainer Konstantin Bitter spoke of a 50:50 duel before the game. The two teams had already faced each other in the group phase of the past Champions League season. At that time there was a 3-2 win for the home team.

First sentence goes to Rzeszow

The game then also started balanced before Rzeszow was able to settle 7: 4 for the first time. The MTV was combative and came to the lead for the first time at 11:10. In the course of the first round, thanks to a strong offensive, the Polishes pulled some of it again and took the lead.

For the Stuttgart women, the second section had to minimize the error rate. This was done optimally, and the hosts quickly led 3-0. The MTV now acted significantly more concentrated and declined to 13: 6. Rzeszow’s coach, the former Stuttgart coach Michal Muek, reacted and took the second break early. And his team actually came back with five points. The longer breath had the longer breath.

Third sentence becomes a nerve test

In the third set, it was scarce before the MTV settled to 15:11 thanks to a strong block. With five points in series, Rzeszow made the result. The end of the sentence promised high voltage. Both teams defended several set balls before the guest team secured the passage after almost an hour with 45:43 (!).

The fourth set continued just as exciting. The opponents met at eye level until 15:15, both teams alternately set the highlights. Then Rzeszow pulled away to 19:16 and did not take this lead.

The second leg in Poland will be held on February 20. The winner of the duel moves into the quarter -finals.
