Basketball world champion Daniel Theis is apparently faced in the North American professional league NBA before moving to Oklahoma City Thunder.
As the American television broadcaster “ESPN” reported on Wednesday (05.02.2025), the 32-year-old is to leave the New Orleans Pelicans by trade and in the future with his compatriot Isaiah Hartenstein. A confirmation of the deal was initially pending.
New Orleans should reduce costs
Theis currently has a $ 2.1 million contract at the end of the season at the Pelicans. Oklahoma City, currently the best team in the Western Conference, would be the seventh NBA franchise for Theis.
For New Orleans, the trade should represent a measure to reduce costs. The world champion of 2023 only switched to the Pelicans in July 2024.
