In the late afternoon of Wednesday 5 February a crash caused the death of three people. Around 19.20 a helicopter civil fell to Castel Guelfoa fraction of the Municipality of Noceto, in the province of Parma. The three people on board died. The aircraft fell into the holding of a castle owned by the Rovagnati family, the cured meats producers. The area was surrounded by a thick fog. The investigations by the authorities are underway. The carabinieri and health workers of 118 intervened on the spot. Among the people on board there would also be Lorenzo Rovagnatione of the two holders of the family business. His name has been reported by several sources to rescuers who are on the spot and in the evening are operating on the remains of the helicopter to extract the victims. Lorenzo Rovagnati, 41 years old, inherited the sausage factory together with his brother Ferruccio by his father, Paolo, the founder of the company.

The Parma prosecutor has ordered the seizure of the black box. As far as we learn, the helicopter had recently taken off. The National Flight Security Agency (ANSV) opened an investigation into the accident. The precipitated aircraft is an A109 Agusta.

I have always been a friend of Paolo, the progenitor, and of his son Lorenzo, whom I have seen growing since I was a child. I was very fond of Lorenzo, I had heard him just two days ago. We often saw each other on Wednesday, when he returned to Castelguelfo by helicopter starting from his home in Biassola, in the province of Milan. The Rovagnati family has always been a great added value for Noceto and our community, over the years they have always helped our municipality and the inhabitants, actively participating in the projects we proposed to it. Both Paolo and Lorenzo – continues the mayor – have always shown a truly impressive humility and availability. They are entrepreneurs known all over the world, but they have never lost their kindness and availability. In the last period Lorenzo was taking the reins of the family business in his hand, an Italian excellence in the world. Thought now goes to the family, in particular to his wife, who is waiting to give birth to his third child. This is a tragedy of enormous proportions. “
