PSV settled in the quarterfinals of the KNVB Cup with Feyenoord (2-0). Goals from Johan Bakayoko and Guus Til were enough to reach the last four of the cup tournament. It was not a high -quality competition between the two scanned top teams. Afterwards a lot will be discussed over the opening goal.

It was said in advance that PSV-Feyenoord was currently the Lamme against the blind. Both top teams were not exactly in shape and also had to deal with a laundry list of injuries. A PSV-Feyenoord is still a top match on paper, but that was not the case in practice.

It became a very moderate match with a very moderate video referee. Because the opening goal of PSV was approved after 8 minutes can still be called quite wonderful. At Johan Bakayoko’s shot, Ismael Saibari is annoyingly offside. As a result, Feyenoord goalkeeper Timon Wellenreuther sees the ball too late, but PSV is in the lead.

Business to 2-0
It was waiting for a response from the visitors who also took the initiative in the competition. It was due to Joël Drommel that the equalizer did not come on the scoreboard. The goalkeeper saved beautifully on a shot by Givairo Read.

Shortly after the break, PSV was close to the 2-0, but Guus Til hit the bar with the head. But with a quarter of a game to play, it was the midfielder who decided the game. He doubled the lead from a pass from Saibari.

Essential success
PSV therefore goes to the semi -final. Those matches will be played at the end of this month. The final would possibly wait for Easter Monday (April 21)

But in addition to a place in the semi -final, PSV fills a little more confidence towards the tough diptych with Juventus next week. The game was not yet to write home, but in 2025 the result has mainly counted. Result that was still missing in January.

The last game waits to Turin on Saturday. Willem II then comes to visit the Philips Stadium.
