Nine new houses will be built on the site of the former Aldi in Dwingeloo. There will be four semi-detached houses and five detached houses on Heuvelelenweg.

Work has been done for years on plans for new homes on the released site. The municipality of Westerveld has concluded an agreement for the new construction project with Kroon Real Estate Development.

Supermarket Aldi moved to the other side of the village two years ago, a new store was built on the site of the former landfill on the Valderseweg.

In recent years, the municipality of Westerveld has been encouraged several times to speed up housing plans in Dwingeloo. Young people and village interests Dwingeloo climbed in the pen. Opposite the Aldi location, houses were built in recent years on the site of a riding school.

With the Valderse III plan, the municipality hopes to further expand, with a hundred houses on the east side of the village. The landowner and the municipality have an agreement on this, but there is an appeal lodged by a company that fears being limited in his work due to the arrival of the new neighborhood.

In addition, Housing Corporation Actium is working on a construction project on the spot where the Storkschool stood until 2016. There are eight social rental houses here.
