Instant messaging service Meta, who owns WhatsApp, blames Israeli spy program manufacturer Paragon Solutions of dozens of cyber attacks on dozens of suppliers.

According to WhatsApp, an attack on its application was trying to access the WhatsApp discussions of about 90 journalists and organizational workers. So far, it is not known whether the information has been compromised.

News agency Reuters According to the information, hacking attempts occurred in a total of twenty countries. European countries are also known to be involved.

In his statement, WhatsApp said he ordered Paragon to stop attacks immediately. Paragon refused to comment on the case to Reuters.

The attack was implemented by sending a file contaminated to the devices of the target persons. The attack did not require any action from the victim, such as opening a file. The so -called zero click attacks are particularly dangerous and have been warned in other contexts.

Paragon sells advanced spy software to government, for example. Officially, they are used to combat crime and promote national security. Paragon has advertised his tools as ethical and said it only sells its products to steady democratic states.
