On Monday, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the establishment and organization of the Russian Eurovision Song Contest, says the Russian news agency Tass.

The Intervision Singing Competition will be held later this year. According to the Moscow Times news site, the competition is organized in Moscow and its surrounding areas.

The Deputy Prime Minister of Russia has been appointed Chairman of the Intervision Organizing Committee Dmitri charnyšenko and Chairman of the Supervisory Board Sergei Kirijenko.

According to Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, more than 25 countries have expressed their interest in the competition. According to Lavrov, those interested in the countries include several Latin American countries and all BRICS countries.
