When and where does the Ski World Cup take place?
The 48th Ski World Cup is held in Saalbach Hinterglemm in Austria. As early as 1991, the self -proclaimed “Home of Lässän” was host of an alpine world championship in the Salzburg Land. At that time, Saalbach went down in history as a World Sonna. In order to simplify logistics, drives are only on the slopes on the Zwölferkogel. There the stadium offers up to 15,000 spectators the best view of the target slope.
It starts on February 4 with the opening ceremony and the first competition. The last race for precious metal takes place on February 16.
What is new?
The team combination is new to the program. It consists of departure and slalom and is held in the men and women. Two athletes of a nation each will form a duo. One partner competes in the descent, the other on the same day in slalom. The times of both runs are added, the fastest team wins.
The Alpine Combination in Singles will be missing, and the parallel competitions of men and women will also be deleted.

Speed specialist Kira Weidle-Winkelmann has already won World Cup silver in 2021, and a new medal would be a surprise after the current course of the season. If all -rounder Emma Aicher drive onto the podium, one could even talk about a sensation.
Who are the favorites?
Marco Odermatt dominates for men. After a stuttering start, the Swiss got going and regularly visited the podium. He could become a medal hamster and has four chances of winning: in the giant slalom, departure, Super-G and team combination there could be gold.
However, the crowd of competitors is great: Manuel Feller, Vincent Kriechmayr, Franjo von Allmen, Alexis Monney, Stefan Rogentin, Loic Meillard or Fredrik Möller must be trusted. The field of medal candidates is also large in the slalom. Clement Noel, Lucas Pinheiro Braathen, Henrik Kristoffersen, Atle Lie McGrath, Timon Haugan and Alexander Steen Olsen can be trusted.
