Transfer coup: VfB Stuttgart strikes twice on the transfer market on the Deadline Day. In addition to Luca Jaquez, a defense jewel also changes from the 2nd Bundesliga to Stuttgart.

Bundesliga club VfB Stuttgart, on the last day of the open transfer window, fetches two new players for central defense.

In addition to the already fixed transfer by Luca Jaquez from the Swiss Club FC Lucerne, VfB is also increasing with Finn Jeltsch from 1. FC Nürnberg.

The runner -up officially confirmed this on Monday. “Finn Jeltsch is one of the outstanding young players in Germany in his position. At the age of 18, 31 games in the 2nd Bundesliga had already played. We are very happy that we were able to tie Finn to VfB in the long term,” said VfB sports director Fabian Wohlgemuth.

Jeltsch wants to take “the next step in my development” at VfB. “I really feel like the new task, the teammates and the entire club,” he is quoted in the statement.

According to reports from “Sky” and “Bild”, VfB should transfer a high single -digit million sum to Franconia. “Sky” writes from 7.5 to ten million euros as a guarantee sum plus possible bonus payments that VfB has to pay.

As the “Bild” reports, the 18-year-old completed the medical check in Bad Cannstatt on Monday morning and signed a contract in Stuttgart until 2030.

Defense talent comes to Stuttgart

Jeltsch is considered a great talent in his position. In December 2023 he won the U17 World Cup with the German junior selection.

How exactly the VfB is planning with it is still unclear.

In the current season, Jeltsch was used 18 times in the 2nd Bundesliga and twice in the DFB Cup at the 1st FC Nürnberg, developed into a regular in defense and even scored his first goal with the professionals against Fortuna Düsseldorf.

The transfers also made the path for Anthony Rouault free. The defender leaves VfB. VfB had made a successor to the condition for a Rouault party. The French are drawn to Stade Rennes for around 15 million euros. Rouault apparently wanted to return to his homeland, and VfB has now also confirmed the departure.
