Sweden’s squad for the biathlon World Cup starting on February 12 is complete. There are surprises in the nomination.

On Monday, Sweden announced his final for the 2025 biathlon World Cup in Lenzerheide. The decisive factor for the nominations was probably the recent services at the European Championship.

Anna Magnusson, Anna-Karin Heijdenberg, Ella Halvarsson, Johanna Skottheim as well as Elvira and Hanna Öberg will start with women.

Heijdenberg and Skottheim in particular developed the appeals through strong achievements at the European Championship. The 24-year-old Heijdenberg in particular had convinced in Martell with a first, a second and a third place.

“A European Championship that I will never forget, and as an icing on the cake, I got a World Cup ticket! Point me up,” Heijbenberg wrote on Instagram.

Skottheim’s best result at the European Championship was seventh place in the singles.

“Anna-Karin and Johanna both performed well, so that we both appointed them to the World Cup squad,” Sweden’s head coach Johannes Lukas told “Aftonbladet”.

Nykvist receives the last ticket for biathlon World Cup
