Werder Bremen has strengthened on the Deadline Day on the offensive. The Leipzig attacker André Silva changes to the Weser on a loan base until the end of the season. According to reports, Werder takes over half of the Portuguese salary, which is expected to earn 7 million euros in the year. The sum for the remaining five months is therefore around EUR 1.5 million. On the other hand, a rental fee is not due and a purchase option is also not part of the deal.

“For André, it wasn’t the case as he imagined it. Therefore, the door for us rose again at short notice. We are absolutely convinced of its quality and are happy that it worked. André has known the Bundesliga for years, is fully in training and we hope that integration into our team will take place very quickly, ”said Peter Niemeyer, Head of Professional Ball.

Leipzig paid for the 29-year-old in 2021 after an outstanding season at Eintracht Frankfurt, in which he reached 39 scorers (29 goals and ten templates), 23 million euros. After the season he reached his personal maximum market value of 45 million euros. In Leipzig, however, Silva could not build on his successful time at Eintracht and remained behind the expectations, so that its market value continuously fell to 5 million euros. This season he only came to 305 minutes.
