The 1. FC Köln is about to commit Imad Rondic. The striker comes after tough negotiations from Widzew Lodz.

On the home stretch of the transfer phase, the striker search of the 1. FC Köln still has a successful end. According to right-back Jusuf Gazibegovic, central defender Joel Schmied and goalkeeper Anthony Racioppi, attacker Imad Rondic is to be presented promptly as the fourth winter access of the second division leader.

The difficult search after an offensive reinforcement had recently developed for a race against time for the FC managers-on Monday evening, 8 p.m., the transfer window for the German clubs closes. But in the meantime, Rondic, who previously went on goals for the Polish first division club Widzew Lodz, is in Cologne.

On Sunday afternoon, accompanied by team supervisor Marius Laux, the Bosnian arrived in the MediaPark Clinic to complete his medical check necessary for the change. If the team doctors have given the green light as expected according to the orthopedic and cardiological examinations, Rondic could have already signed his FC contract.

The 25-year-old was one of Widzew Lodz’s top performers in the previous season, scored nine goals in 18 league games. The Polish managers poker around their attacker accordingly hard. Quite strange: Both the president and the press spokesman for the association had recently spoken out via “X” to comment on negotiations with the Cologne. At the same time, Rondic was accused of strike in Polish media, which the player himself described on Instagram as “fake info”.

For a long time, the “billy goats” had been kept covered. It was only on Saturday, on the edge of the second division victory at Eintracht Braunschweig, was sports director Christian Keller publicly confirmed the interest in Rondic for the first time. “He is a player that we are in focus. I don’t need to deny that here. The next few days will show whether we come to a result or not,” said Keller’s words at “Sky”.

With Rondics arrival at the medical check, it was now unable to reveal itself that the clubs could agree after complicated negotiations. The FC should pay almost 1.5 million euros for the striker, whose contract in Lodz would have expired at the end of the season. The obligation on Monday should be officially announced.

Then Rondic could be on the lawn for the first time with his new teammates, 10.30 a.m. the training week begins at Geißbockheim. If he can immediately convince chief coach Gerhard Struber, the 1.90-meter guns will be a lightning debut in a very special game: Wednesday evening FC is guesting to the explosive cup quarter-final at defending champion Bayer Leverkusen.
