Schalke Desolat: Magdeburg dismantled S04

A bitter defeat for FC Schalke 04 – and also in their own stadium: 2: 5 (0: 2), the royal blue lost in the top game of the 20th matchday of the 2nd Bundesliga against 1. FC Magdeburg and experienced a very difficult Saturday evening.
The outstanding man of the better guests in all matters was attacker Martijn Kaars with four goals (29, 45.+2, 56., 74.), and Philipp Hercher (65.) met. The meanwhile 1: 4 by Adrian Gantenbein (69.) did not ensure the hoped -for turn at the Schalkern. In added time, Janik Bachmann (90.+3) still scored the final score.
Magdeburg climbs to second place in the table, at least temporarily, the Schalke remain in 13th place. After the recent upswing and five games in series without defeat, the Schalker, on the other hand, collected a bitter damper.
At first the fans had presented a balanced picture in the Schalke arena, both teams gave themselves little – until Kaars struck for the first time. After a rapidly executed free kick in the added time of the first half, the Dutch reacted faster than the Schalke defense and increased.
Schalke started in round two, but again it was Kaars who hit from a short distance. Nine minutes later, Hercher even shot 4-0. The quiet hopes of the Schalke after the connection goal through Gantenbein quickly dissolved in air, after all, shortly afterwards Kaars was on the spot again.
