FC Bayern strokes professional from squad – surprise on the bench

The Bundesliga continues for Bayern. The German record champions rotated several times against Kiel.
For the home game of FC Bayern in the Bundesliga against Holstein Kiel, coach Vincent Kompany has changed five times. In contrast to the 3-1 win in the Champions League against Slovan Bratislava, Dayot Upamecano, Raphaël Guerreiro and Konrad Laimer return to defense. Jamal Musiala and Kingsley Coman start on the offensive.
Winter newcomer Max Urbig is in the Munich team for the first time after moving from 1. FC Köln. The German U21 international is the only replacement in the goalkeeper position. Bavaria’s sports director Max Eberl confirmed on Friday before the game that Stamm keeper Manuel Neuer will give games to Urbig from summer. The 21-year-old signed a contract until 2029. The club paid around seven million euros transfer plus bonus payments.
Storm talent Mathys Tel, however, is missing in the Bavarian squad. The 19-year-old has been accompanying rumors about a departure for several weeks. Finally, the hottest trace led to Manchester United. On the left wing, where Tel in the Champions League against Bratislava, begins against the promoted Coman.
Before the game at Sky, sports director Christoph Freund declared the decision not to appoint Tel against Kiel: “We have many conversations with him. In the past few days there was a lot going on around the boys, he is only 19 years old.” The bosses therefore decided on Friday with Tel “that he has his head full and therefore makes no sense if he is in the squad today.”
Communication is open and transparent between both sides. “But that doesn’t mean anything. There is a lot going on, many clubs are interested in Mathys,” said Freund. “It is quite possible that Bayern Munich players on Tuesday.” Tel should now worry.
