“There were more and more delays in the game. Could have been strong, for me the measure for a yellow card was reached, so yellow-red”said Petersen at “DAZN”. “Friedl ran after me and hit my back several times, I found that inappropriately. He then ran after me again, here too the measure was reached at some point.”

Bremen’s coach Werner: “I can only apologize”

Even after the final whistle, there was no peace. Referee Petersen showed Bremen’s coach Ole Werner the red card because he had complained. The referees can also pronounce such punishments even after the final whistle until the actors have left the place. “There were words that were wrong”said Petersen. “He came to the cabin after the game and apologized, so it is done for me.”

Bremen’s coach Ole Werner also hit publicly conciliatory tones when asked why he got red: “Because I didn’t have a grip. That shouldn’t happen to me. I can only apologize”he said in the sports show interview. The length of the lock is now up to the sports jurisdiction of the DFB. The Mainz coach Bo Henriksen will also be missing a game, he saw his fourth yellow card.

The Bremen gate shooter Leonardo Bittencourt was less insightful. “The (referee) have shown an arrogance, hats off. You have to do that first without distributing such red cards without need.” With a view to Petersen, Bittencourt claims: “He was in the mood to show Werder Bremen red cards. He has a certain line towards us.”
