A new chief public prosecutor of the district park of Rotterdam will be appointed in the Rotterdam District Parket. It is about Mr. R. (Rutger) Jeuken. The Council of Ministers has agreed to the nomination for the appointment on the proposal of Minister Van Weel of Justice and Security. The appointment starts on March 15, 2025.

Rutger Jeuken started his career in 2001 at the Public Prosecution Service as the public prosecutor at the District Parket Middelburg, after which he became deputy Advocate General at the Ressortparket The Hague in 2004. Since 2006 he has held various positions, as well as (detective) public prosecutor and in managerial positions, at the public prosecutors Middelburg, Breda and the Functional Public Prosecutor’s Office. From 2017 he was a deputy chief officer at District Parket Central Netherlands, after which he became the chief officer of the same public prosecutor in 2019.

Rutger Jeuken succeeds Hugo Hillenaar, who recently became chairman of the Supervision of the Intelligence and Security Services Committee (CTIVD).
