Bridget Maasland believes that Hélène Hendriks has blundered considerably in her broadcast in which Jack van Gelder rides against climate activists. “Extension rebellion?!”

There was recently some controversy about Jack van Gelder, who had called in the talk show of Hélène Hendriks that, as far as he was concerned, there may be a tank over all those climate activists on the highway. He got it on with one of the country’s best -known activists, namely Carice van Houten. She has to puke from Jack.

Fantastic move

Bridget Maasland is very much in Camp Carice in this regard, as one of the few. “Yes, I thought it was a fantastic move how she dealt with it,” she says in The BLVD podcast.

Rob Goossens surprised: “Oh, really?!”

Bridget: “Oh, not you?”

Rob: “No, I was surprised about that.”

Bridget: “Oh, there we go again. Serious?”

Extension rebellion

Bridget then explains it to her listeners and ridicules Hélène. “Let’s explain it for a moment … anyway: Hélène Hendriks said instead of Extinction Rebellion ‘Extension Rebellion’, so as if people were there with hairpieces on the highway.”

Rob joking: “Or against hairpieces.”

Bridget: “That was also possible, yes. Haha. That could all have been. ”

Ridiculous and ridiculous

Bridget still knows what Jack said. “And on that, Jack van Gelder said that a tanker could drive over it and ridiculous, ridiculous and annoying for everyone who had to ride and had to be there. And Carice – yes, I find – really well responded to her social media. ”

Why does she find that? “She gave him a lesson in: why make something ridiculous if you can first delve into it? 100 million subsidies of fossil fuels are given away daily. Let’s look at that and be busy with that, instead of finding it so annoying that a highway is closed once … “

No hindrance

According to Bridget, those highway protests are simply needed. “If you do not close it or are not bothered by it, we will apparently not conduct the discussion either. That was a bit the meaning of the story. What exactly did you find annoying about it? “

Rob: “Well, you cause a hindrance to ultimately bring people to other thoughts. There is of course no one who has to detour for Extinction Rebellion and who then thinks: maybe they have a very good point. What you want to achieve, support for your point, you will not succeed that way. ”

Do not agree

Bridget absolutely disagrees. “Well, they were talking about it everywhere, so I don’t agree with you, okay.”

Rob: “Yes, resulting in Jack van Gelder’s short-by-the-turn statements.”

Bridget: “Yes, but apparently that is indeed the reaction, so it will be discussed again.”
