The Champions League is a financial success for the German clubs. Bayer Leverkusen and Co. have already had remarkable income.
The Champions League is not only of great importance, but also financially extremely lucrative. Even participation in the competition brings the clubs millions, plus premiums for victories, tie and reaching the next round. Master Bayer Leverkusen in particular has already had high income this season. There were also millions for the other Bundesliga clubs – even for RB Leipzig, which left with just one win.
The premiums in the Champions League are composed of various factors. In addition to a start -up bonus of 18.62 million euros, there is 2.1 million euros in the league aphase for each win and 0.7 million euros for a draw. The amounts not released in a draw flow into a premium pot that will later be distributed proportionately to the clubs.

In addition to the start bonus, a placement bonus is distributed. This starts at 250,000 euros for the bottom of the table and increases with every better placement. There are also bonuses for certain placements and playoff participants.
Another important factor is the so -called value bonus, which is composed of the club coefficient and the market pool. An association can receive up to 46.11 million euros here. However, this sum has not yet been fully calculated.
Bayer Leverkusen: 50.57 million euros
The Werkself won five games – including AC Milan and Inter – and won a draw. This brings 11.2 million euros in premiums. The placement bonus of 7.75 million euros and the round of 16 bring additional income.

Five victories bring 10.5 million euros in premiums. Bavaria ended the league in twelve and gets 6.25 million euros from the placement bonus.
