Eintracht Frankfurt is subject to the Mats Hummels team. After the tour of Rome, the fans in the ranks completely freaked out.
The three points stayed with Mats Hummels and his AS Rome-nevertheless Eintracht Frankfurt is in the round of 16 of the football Europe League. The Hesse lost 0: 2 (0: 1) among the Italians on Thursday evening, but one of the best eight teams in the leagueapse were still in the round of the best 16. Hummels and Co. secured a place in the play-offs through the threesome.
However, unpleasant scenes had occurred away from the lawn in the ranks of the Olympic Stadium. Rome’s attacker Angeliño struck shortly before the break. The Spaniard used a flank from Mancini from an acute angle to 1-0. Afterwards there were tumulties in the stands between the partly hooded supporters of the Roma and those of Eintracht Frankfurt.
The Roma hooligans apparently tried to shoot luminaires on the guest fans’ camp, and they are said to have thrown smoke bombs. The police stormed the block to control the violent offenders. Folders also moved and had their hands full to keep the rioters from worse. “This violence is just annoying,” said Eintracht sports director Timmo Hardung at RTL+ at half-time.
Frankfurt’s sports director Markus Krösche also criticized the behavior of the Roma fans: “These are scenes that are not part of football,” he told the “picture”.
After both fan camps calmed down in round two, Joker Shomurodov gave the eleven of coach Claudio Ranieri the decisive goal of the game two minutes after his substitution. Frankfurt found hardly any solutions against the team of world champion Mats Hummels and did not act little, but also had to worry about the direct progress with a view to the roles running in parallel.
“You have to appear very differently to take something with you,” said SGE defender Robin Koch after the game at RTL+: “Except for the game today we can be very, very satisfied with the round we play.”
