The time has come again, at least once a year there is one of these columns with which I try to escape resignation. The distances seem to be getting smaller: any fasco has been re -chosen, some catastrophe has happened, something is already in progress that gives you the feeling that it gets really dark from now on. And then you ask yourself, it might have been all the time or was it darker earlier and was it really brighter in between – and if so, was that for everyone?
In any case, yesterday was a really shitty day again. The fire wall against the AfD, i.e. against anti -democracy and fascism, was practically torn down because Friedrich Merz’s racist application was accepted thanks to racist votes from a racist party. So a lot of people go on the street again, light their fairy lights and sing the good old “Hejo, excited the car” song like a good children’s choir, with the now established demo text:
“Defend yourself, make resistance
Against fascism here in the country.
Keep together
Keep together. “
At some point the last two lines were called – much better – “on the barricades, on the barricades”, but that is probably a bit too radical for many. Otherwise we don’t seem to have so much in our hands against fascism here in the country, right? What I personally have are more and more bad headaches, of all the screens: Phoenix Gloten on the TV, write on the laptop, exchange ideas with friends about messengers, scrolling on social media, whether it is also the case, what for what kind of Jokes you and whether you have any clever idea.
The clever idea you have is to act. Away from the cell phone and out there.
Organize, demonstrate, come together. I think it’s always. Go. For my part, I can only do it with music on my ears or at least in my head, maybe that’s how it works for you.
You can only be angry with this country.
You should no longer be dazed, not surprised and, above all, don’t believe your excuses.
Because we don’t have time anymore.
And we urgently have to get clearly who really threatens our freedom.
Yes, we all have to stay together, no matter where we come from, how much we do for the damn economy, no matter how our body looks and what it can do. But we also have to think of those who cannot get out and on the streets – be it because they are threatened by police violence, be it because they are afraid, be it because they are sick, or because they are too alone and are excluded.
In the course of the possible Tikok ban in the USA and the craps of Meta and X, which lie in the hands of megalomaniac bros, the security of platforms, the political danger that emanates from them and the effects on the psyche, is being increasingly increasingly The Doomscrolling has discussed – everything is completely right. But for some it is also the only way to connect. So it’s worth it that we continue to see where we can also come together online. And we should definitely talk more about what the so -called real life, especially capitalism and fascation, our psyche does. Going through 30 days of January was a much worse doom scrolling than that that could give you every terrible Tikok bubble.
That’s why I still have three cultural product recommendations that attract you again in front of screens.
“A Real Pain” (by and with Jesse Eisenberg and with the wonderful Kieran Culkin) is a film that triggers pretty much any emotion in one. It is about two Jewish cousins who travel to Poland to trace her grandmother, who once lived there. It is about memory, about inherited trauma and dealing with psychological problems – and about how different ways of dealing with it and different life plans can make it impossible.
The new bathroom bunny album “Debí Tirar Más Photos” (“I should have taken more photos”) opens up a whole world. It is not only worth listening to it, but also to watch the associated short film and also into the associated meme world of fans. Everything is about the loss of home, places and belonging, symbolized by the white garden chair, which we all know.
And last but not least: “Semi -detached house“(ZDFneo) had to be rubbed under my nose on Netflix, although there are already three seasons in the ZDF media library.
