- Finnish company Insta Group is expecting to receive Traficom’s high security rating for a new secret system. The device is then applied for by NATO’s high security classification.
- The secret system for securing critical knowledge of Finnish authorities is expected to acquire other NATO countries.
- According to Insta, the production of a hard attack on a hard attack has been secured in exceptional circumstances.
A new data encryption device developed by the Finnish technology company Insta Group has applied for a high safety approval from Traficom, the Finnish Transport and Communications Agency, which has not yet been granted in Finland. The approval encryption device is expected to come by the end of June, when Traficom will complete the product evaluation.
With approval, the device’s encryption solution meets the so -called TL II, that is, the two requirements of the safety class. This means that the device can be used to secure critical information from security authorities and other organizations. To date, Traficom has granted only the safety class three approvals for Finnish encryption equipment.
– This is moderately rare in the world and the first domestic encryption device at this level, the director of Insta’s online security business Mika Joutsenvirta tells Iltalehti about the new Insta Safelk Secret solution.
He emphasizes that the parts of the device are all domestic. Design, manufacturing, maintenance and product development are also done in Finland. The availability of parts and the functioning of production are also provided in exceptional circumstances, so security of supply is guaranteed.
Insta, a strategic partner of the Defense Forces, announced a new encryption device on Wednesday in Helsinki at a large Secd-Day at a security and defense event.
Continuous data transfer
Insta said that the new Safelink Secret would be able to transfer large amounts of encrypted data even under heavy load. Matti Tanner
Joutsenvirta recalls that the recent Government’s defense report is strongly highlighted by cyber security and how the most important chain and competence of the most important confidentiality of knowledge must remain under national control.
Finland’s self -sufficiency in critical encryption technology has also been focused on the national cyber security strategy. In addition, the authorities have repeatedly warned the cyber attacks it made during the offensive war in Ukraine in Ukraine.
– Security -based information is constantly being transferred between different authorities, which requires an approved encryption solution to protect. In addition to the Defense Forces, for example, various ministries are moving it, says Joutsenvirta.
Even in normal circumstances, authorities need heavy class encryption in the transmission of information between locations, data centers, different locations and networks. In exceptional circumstances, the transfer of encrypted information plays an even bigger role.
For other NATO countries
Joutsenvirta says Insta’s goal is to get the new encryption solution to NATO’s high level security classification NATO (Secret), whose requirements the device meets. This is being sought as long as Traficom’s approval is obtained. As a result, the transfer of NATO and the EU security -rated material can be protected by the system.
With NATO approval, the Finnish encryption solution may also be sold to other NATO countries. Joutsenvirta will tell you that possible partner countries have already been investigated before June, expected.
-With NATO membership, there is a need for NATO-approved secrets in Finland, but we also see opportunities for our products in the international market.
According to the Swan Valra, the high security class secrets have been developed to handle large amounts of data and to withstand ever -increasing load.
– Functional functionality has also been patented. Salain uses quantum -safe algorithms, meaning that in the future it will withstand demolition attempts on quantum computer, says and refers to super -powerful computing computing computers.
To vehicles and telecommuting
Insta’s previous safelink encryption solutions (blue and smaller black device) can be used, for example, in vehicles and telecommuting stations. Matti Tanner
According to Joutsenvirta, Insta has been done for about five years of product development work in front of a high -level encryption system. In order for Traficom’s approval, the authorities have been kept at all stages of development.
“We have worked with Traficom with a big cooperation and every part of the device is done under the supervision of an authority,” he says.
Before Insta, the latest encryption solution has released two lower -level encryption devices. In the fall, Traficom awarded NATO and the EU’s lower TL III encryption product approval. This was the first time that the Finnish authority grants an encryption product approval to protect the EU and NATO security -rated information.
According to Swan Stream, two previously approved encryption devices can be used, for example, on ships or small vehicles, as well as teleworking.
