The PSV Eindhoven releases Matteo Dams on the Saudi Pro League club Al-Nahli SFC. According to reports, the Eredivisie heading leader for the 20-year-old left-back collects a transfer between 8 million and 10 million euros. As a replacement for the defensive outer lane, a personnel is said to have already been identified, which is said to be on the note with two Bundesliga clubs.
It is rare that a hopeful talent takes the way out of a European league towards Saudi Arabia. Dams only joined the professionals from the second representative of PSVs last summer, in the current season he played 15 league games and was also on the pitch in the Champions League in 417 of 540 possible minutes. Dams’ market value has risen from 350,000 to 5 million euros since the summer.
The Treaty of the Belgian U21 national player at PSV would have expired in summer, so it was the last way to get a transfer if the extension failed. And as is well known, the offers from Saudi Arabia are often extremely lucrative. Coach Peter Bosz recently indicated that he himself was surprised, but “grant” the transfer to his protégé.
“It was the conversation of the day among the players,” said the former Bundesliga coach, who also attested with a view to the beginning of the hot phase of the winter transfer window: “But it can always go quickly.” Bosz also emphasized that in any case a corresponding replacement for the left defensive wing.
Aass Salah-Eddine from FC Twente is speculated as a candidate for this in Dutch media. The 23-year-old, trained at Ajax Amsterdam, is one of the top performers in Enschede and still has a contract until 2027. In view of the factors that arise, it is difficult. VfB Stuttgart and TSG Hoffenheim are also said to be interested in the services of the left foot, which was in the starting eleven in 15 out of 18 out of 18 eredivisie games in 2024/25 and had previously contributed four scorers.
