Who should become coach at Borussia Dortmund after the Şahin separation? The experts Steffen Freund and Dietmar Hamann make different suggestions. First of all, interim coach Tullberg is required.

Sky expert Dietmar Hamann has a clear suggestion for a new coach at Borussia Dortmund: Felix Magath. Hamann explained on the Sky90 program: “You need discipline, you have to go to the store. The players have been allowed to get away with it for far too long.” Given the club’s current crisis, he believes the experienced coach is the right choice to get the team back on track.

After parting ways with Nuri Şahin, BVB will again be looked after by interim coach Mike Tullberg in the Champions League game against Shakhtar Donetsk on Wednesday. Şahin’s dismissal was the consequence of four defeats since the beginning of the year.

Another name that has recently been discussed is Niko Kovač. Ex-BVB professional Steffen Freund believes the former Bayern coach can take the job – but under conditions: “But not as a firefighter.” Should Kovac be signed, said Freund, the club would also have to offer him prospects beyond the current season.

In principle, however, Freund warned against a short-term solution. In a situation like the current one, it is extremely difficult to turn things around. Even Jürgen Klopp, said Freund, “would have problems.”
