A motorist was seriously injured on Saturday night in an accident in Riel. Around a quarter to two on the Tilburgseweg, the driver crashed into a large boulder that stood on a road narrowing as a decoration. After the blow, the victim was trapped in the heavily damaged car and had to be freed by the fire brigade.
The victim was then urgently taken to the hospital with the ambulance.
The motorist came from Goirle from the direction. The driver probably did not realize that there was a road narrowing. Due to the enormous blow, the boulder ended up from the road Versmalling in the middle of the road.
It is striking that a similar accident happened in the same place on December 16. Even then, a motorist was seriously injured after a blow to the boulder.
The police are investigating the circumstances of the accident on Saturday night.
