National goalkeeper Oliver Baumann will not be available to TSG Hoffenheim until further notice. As the Bundesliga club announced on Saturday, the 34-year-old captain suffered a tendon injury in his foot in the 2-3 win against Tottenham in the Europa League. According to reports, he will be out for several weeks.

“This is a bitter setback for all of us. Oli won’t be able to help us on the pitch as captain in the near future, but with his strong personality, he will still play an important role in the team, especially in these demanding sporting times, and support the entire team. We accept this situation and will of course support Oli with all the means at our disposal so that he can be back on the pitch as quickly as possible,” says Hoffenheim’s sports director Andreas Schicker.

24-year-old Luca Philipp is available as back-up and could get a taste of Bundesliga action for the first time in the game against Eintracht Frankfurt on Sunday (3:30 p.m.). Philipp made his only appearance for the professionals so far this season in the first round of the cup (7:5 a.e. in Würzburg). He has been training at TSG since 2013. Youngster Lúkas Petersson (20) completes the goalkeeper trio.
