Left winger Lucas Cueto, who was recently without a club, is returning to third division club Viktoria Köln. The 28-year-old was most recently under contract with league rivals Dynamo Dresden until the summer of 2024. The offensive force, which was already active in Höhenberg in the 2020/21 season, brings experience from 41 second division games and 100 games in the 3rd division.

Stephan Kusters, Viktoria’s sporting director, said of the Cologne native’s transfer: “I am pleased that Lucas has decided to return to Viktoria. He already had a wonderful and successful time here, and we would like to repeat that together. He has already gotten to know the team recently. Now we want him to stay healthy and then help us with his quality.”

Cueto was Viktoria’s top performer in 2020/21 with 12 goals and then moved on to Karlsruher SC, from where he moved to Dresden in 2023. “It feels good to be a part of Viktoria again,” said Cueto. “I was out for a while due to a long-term injury from the previous season and am not quite back to 100 percent yet. But I feel very good and have been training with the team recently. I associate Viktoria Cologne above all with home.”
