Frankfurt offered 20 million euros as a transfer fee, so Markus Krösche and Co. don’t want to go any higher. Most recently it was said in France that OM did not want to accept a transfer loss and wanted to recoup the 25 million euros invested in Wahi in the summer. The “Picture“wrote on Wednesday that they were asking for 28 million euros, while Eintracht didn’t want to spend more than they did for Hugo Ekitiké (22). It cost 20 million euros including the loan fee when he moved permanently from PSG to the Main in the summer of 2024. The deal is not off the table, but other options are being examined. Most recently in the rumor mill alongside Wahi: Nuremberg’s PAOK loanee Stefanos Tzimas (19), who would be comparable in price, and Bröndby’s Mathias Kvistgaarden (22).
The French broadcaster “RMCSport” had previously reported an impending agreement for Wahi to sign in Frankfurt for four years. Possible successors have already been traded with Ajax’s Brian Brobbey (22) and Feyenoord’s Bayern shock Santiago Gimenez (23).
Wahi’s market value has decreased in the past year and a half from 40 million to currently 25 million euros. In Marseille this season he only made seven starting eleven appearances on the first eight match days. In 14 games he contributed three goals and one assist.
