Anni Ihamäki reveal in the Anni & Jaajo podcast which chain of events led to her hosting the Emma Gala in 2016.
Originally, it was intended to be seen as the presenters of the live broadcast from Espoo’s Metro Arena Axl Smith. He was moved aside from the position due to the sex video scandal.
Even at that time, it was reported that Ihamäki jumped into the watershed with a day’s notice. It was his first live television broadcast.

Ihamäki says in the podcast that he was normally working at Aamumilky when the “big boss” Kari Laakso sent Ihamäki a text message in which he asked Ihamäki to visit Sanomatalo upstairs.
– Okay, I’ll get futu, was Ihamäki’s first thought.
– I probably didn’t say anything to you when I was anxious, Ihamäki says Jaajo to Linnonmaawith whom they hosted Morning Hogwarts at the time.
Laakso by no means fired Ihamäe but asked if he would like to host the Emma gala.
– I replied that “well, I’ve never hosted anything on TV, but probably”.
The next day, Ihamäki hosted the Emma gala together Sami Kuronen with.
Axl Smith later received a suspended sentence of one year and two months for spying.
