Marcus Rashford’s loan move from Manchester United to Borussia Dortmund is reportedly getting closer. More and more details of the sensational BVB deal are leaking out.
According to “Bild”, the 60-time England international could complete the medical check in Dortmund next Thursday – if everything goes according to BVB’s plans, as they say.
Marcus Rashford, who currently no longer plays a role at Man United but is expected to collect the equivalent of around 1.6 million euros per month, will forego part of his salary if he moves to the black and yellow team. Nevertheless, the entire Rashford package could reportedly cost BVB six to eight million euros.
Because: Because of the new Club World Cup in the USA (June 14th to July 14th), BVB might have to cover Rashford’s still generous salary in July, despite his concessions.
Bitter from BVB’s point of view: According to “Bild”, the chances of Rashford playing in black and yellow in the long term are “virtually zero” for economic reasons.
It was also recently heard that the 27-year-old was not BVB coach Nuri Sahin’s absolute dream player from a tactical point of view. However, it is unclear whether both will even work together in Dortmund. Sahin has to worry about his job before the Champions League game at Bologna FC on Tuesday (9 p.m.).

After the horror start to 2025 with three defeats, there is a crisis atmosphere at BVB. As the “Ruhr Nachrichten” reported, Sahin canceled the professionals’ Sunday without training.
Instead, the 36-year-old trainer asked the BVB stars to attend a session at the training ground in Dortmund-Brackel from late morning.
The club bosses also set a good example: sports director Lars Ricken and sports director Sebastian Kehl also arrived before 11 a.m., it was said.
