An 18-year-old cyclist suffered life-threatening injuries on Saturday evening after a collision with a car on the Westouterseweg in Poperinge, West Flanders. The driver (25) of the car called the emergency services herself. The victim’s bicycle was immediately found, but the woman herself was missing at first. Shortly afterwards she was found in a ditch. She was resuscitated at the scene and taken to hospital in critical condition. The motorist, who was not under the influence, was in shock and was also taken to hospital.
