Yle’s former editor-presenter Arto Nyberg58, says Facebook– in his publication about a surprising moment on his Saturday ride. Iltalehti caught up with Nyberg to tell more about the situation.
Nyberg says that he was surprised when a police car drove quite close to the rear bumper of his car on Helsinki’s Kauppatori.
– Then suddenly the red stop light came on. I thought it was going to pass me, but it followed when of course I kindly pulled away from the front. But they weren’t going anywhere when they were after me, he says with a little laugh.
After blowing and checking the driver’s license, the reason for the stop became clear.
– The change of ownership notification had not been submitted. That’s what you have to do when you buy a car, Nyberg says.

According to Nyberg, the ownership of the car had changed in November. According to the presenter, the police should have taken away his license plates, but they decided to do otherwise.
– They were so friendly and aware of the situation that they understood that they shouldn’t do something like that in the middle of Kauppatori. It was enough for them to receive a notice that they need to take care of the matter.
– Of course, they probably should have done it according to the law, he reflects.
Nyberg says that he made a notice of change of ownership immediately after the situation.
– Yes, my hands started shaking so much when I wondered what the hell I had done. That “what the hell, at least I haven’t been speeding”, he says with a laugh.
Nyberg had participated in the Kultainen Venla gala the day before, where his discontinued talk show was nominated. According to Nyberg, “Venla fumes had already evaporated” long before the police stop.
– I wasn’t [jatkoilla]I left there in good time to go home, he says about his gala evening.
