Ilkka Herola got on the podium for the second time this season in the Combined World Cup.
Herola finished third in the competition in Schonach, Germany. Norwegian Jens Oftebro won the race before Austria Johannes Lamparteria and Herola. There was eight seconds behind Oftebroho at the finish line. The ending was strong, and Herola left behind, among other things By Vincenz Geiger and Jarl-Magnus Riiberin.
Eero Hirvonen was 15th in the race, Otto Niittykoski 37th, Wille Karhumaa 41st and Arttu Mäkiaho 46th.
After the hill section, Herola was 13th. He started on the track one minute after the lead. In cross-country skiing, he was the second fastest in the race.
Herola’s first podium finish came at the end of December in Ramsau.
In the women’s race Minja Korhonen was eighth. Won the race Ida Marie Hagen. Korhonen lost to the Norwegian by almost 46 seconds.
