The dating show that Tim Hofman will demolish is probably Lang Leve De Liefde, the big television hit of SBS 6, expect Jan Slagter and Sylvana IJsselmuiden. “Maybe they want to get out of that house.”

After The Voice of Holland, Tim Hofman has set his sights on another TV program, but one in the dating show category. The presenter does not yet want to say what it is about, but he has placed an appeal in which he calls on candidates and employees of ‘dating shows’ to report any abuses.

A bit vague

It seems like Tim is taking a very broad approach with ‘dating shows’, but that’s what he did at the time before the Voice riot. At the time, he was looking for people with negative experiences about ‘talent shows’, because he did not want to immediately name man and horse. So the big question now is: which dating show exactly is Tim going to destroy?

What does Jan Slagter think? He agrees Renze: “No idea. I can’t imagine what he’s saying now that someone is forced to stay somewhere in a house or something or whatever. Yeah, I mean, it’s a little vague. He says: ‘We have heard stories’, but we don’t know exactly what it is and which program it is.”

Long Live Love

It is probably not about seduction shows like Temptation Island, thinks presenter Sylvana IJsselmuiden, who is sitting at the table with Jan to discuss the media week. “A bomb has already fallen there.”

What does she think it’s about? “I was also suggesting a bit what it would be about. I don’t think B&B Vol Liefde, I don’t think First Dates either. I was thinking about — and maybe I’m completely wrong, because it’s just suggesting — Long Live Love.”

To sleep or not to sleep

Jan can imagine that too. “In that program you are in a house together and then the question is: will you sleep or not sleep?”

Sylvana: “No, you’re staying the night anyway.”

Jan: “Okay, then it’s: are you going to sleep there or there or are we going to sleep together? Maybe someone is fed up and wants to get out and then they say: ‘No, the format is that you stay the night’, people feel forced. Is that bad? Should you make a whole television program about that?”

Sane mind

Telegraaf journalist Wouter de Winther doesn’t think this is good for the candidates anyway. “It is television and people know what they are getting into. Who wants to go together? sane mind do this on television while there is a camera? Then things can happen that you may regret later.”

Wouter finds it annoying how Tim brings this up again. “If there are things that cannot stand the light of day, you can just report it, right? Why do you have to go to Tim Hofman to say that something has happened that you don’t like? I also feel a bit like one fishing expeditionfrom: if you have experienced anything else, call me!”

Sensationalism

Talk show host Renze Klamer thinks it is important if any abuses at Lang Leve De Liefde are made public. “Suppose it is the case – but I don’t know – that you think: I no longer feel comfortable with this, but you are being pushed very hard by the makers to stay anyway, then I can imagine that it is not …”

Jan: “It seems a bit like sensationalism, like: we are going to make a program. A few people have complained and now he wants more. Well…”
