Airlines don’t know what to do with the airlines. The passengers could pose a threat to the safety of a flight. This danger is usually indirect: a plane will not crash because there is an aggressive passenger on board, but aggressive passengers do distract the crew from their core business: guaranteeing flight safety.

Incidents are not only serious and disturbing for passengers and (cabin) crew, they also have an impact on the work of cabin crew. In addition, flights with disruptive passengers on board sometimes have to divert or turn around, which also jeopardizes the travel schedule of sometimes hundreds of fellow passengers.

No-fly zone

Last year, airlines KLM and Transavia, Corendon and TUI, as well as the Public Prosecution Service, KMAR and Schiphol, among others, decided to sign a declaration of intent to reach concrete agreements together.

The airlines all already maintained separate blacklists and wanted to investigate whether it was possible to share these lists among themselves. This is not yet possible due to the privacy of the passengers. As a result, a disruptive passenger can easily board another airline’s aircraft after a misstep.
