Due to a break in a rail, far fewer trains will run between the Tilburg and Boxtel stations until Friday evening. The outage started around eleven o’clock on Friday morning and is not expected to be resolved until around a quarter past nine in the evening. “ProRail will repair the track this afternoon. We are therefore deploying stop buses between Tilburg, Oisterwijk and Boxtel,” says an NS spokesperson.

A crack in a rail can be caused by rusting of the steel, problems with its position or wear. If a crack or fracture is too dangerous, trains are no longer allowed to drive over it. This is now the case with the railway near Tilburg. “Travelers can take the bus, but for through travelers we recommend detouring to Eindhoven via Den Bosch.”
