Presenter and singer Manuëla Kemp has died at the age of 61. Her husband announced this on Friday. Kemp was in a coma for more than five weeks after a single-vehicle accident on a scooter in Portugal. Last Monday she was transferred by medical transport to a hospital in Hilversum, where she died in the night from Thursday to Friday.

Kemp, born in 1963 in the North Holland village of Kwadijk, first made a career as a singer and then switched to television. She was first seen on RTL, in programs such as Own Home & Garden and The Friends of Amstelin which she also sang.

She later switched to public broadcasting, where she worked for KRO, EO and Omroep Max. In the music program Moon at nighta reference to her first name Manuëla, Kemp hosted live artists such as Herman Brood and Rob de Nijs. At the end of her career, Kemp presented programs on NPO Radio 5, until she had to stop in 2022 for health reasons.
