Rasmus Carstensen is leaving 1.FC Köln after a year and a half. The right-back, who was signed by KRC Genk for 1.5 million euros last summer after a previous loan, is joining Lech Poznan on loan.
At Cologne, Carstensen had been losing out to Jan Thielmann since the second half of last season and only made four appearances lasting 154 minutes in the first half of the season. In Poznan he is now hoping for more playing time with the leaders of the Ekstraklasa. After 16 games, the eight-time champions are two points ahead of the competition.
Carstensen says about his move to Poland: “I am very happy and pleased that everything went as it should and that I can join Lech Poznan. I know that I am joining a big club not only in Poland but also at European level. I’m looking forward to training with the team. Every player wants to win trophies and of course I want that too. I know that Lech is the front runner and fighting for the championship, so it was just as important for me.”
