Something strange is going on in the pharmaceutical industry in our country. The sector is profitable, investments are large and all companies are looking for people, but there are still redundancies. Last year, Pfizer, Janssen Pharmaceutica and Sanofi together cut 480 jobs, last week 200 jobs were cut at Galapagos and today Novartis in Puurs announced that 170 people will be laid off. “We have to take action, because at the same time there are around 400 jobs every year for which pharmaceutical companies cannot find Belgian candidates.”
