Honda Olivero wins the Piedmontese derby and takes a step forward in terms of salvation. Milan catches Igor in third place
In the second leg of the women’s A1 the biggest surprise comes from Cuneo where Igor Novara falls in the derby without Tolok and leaves the hosts with three points which could be decisive in terms of survival.
FLORENCE-MILAN 1-3 (20-25, 25-22, 17-25, 21-25)
—
Second consecutive full success for Milan, which returns from Palazzo Wanny with a 1-3 over Bisonte Firenze (fourth knockout in a row). A match in which the Lombards are very fouled in the second set in which the opponents are instead incisive in serving. For the rest, Orro manages his laterals in attack, with Daalderop deserved MVP (efficiency above 50% in both attack and reception). Bendandi transforms the running team (Acciarri and Nervini for Baijens and Cagnin), without however finding continuity in attack (with the exception of Malual).
Florence: Malual 18 points, Muri team 6, Ace team 5.
Milan: Egonu 19 points, Muri team 11, Ace team 4.
PERUGIA-PINEROLO 1-3 (26-28, 25-23, 17-25, 15-25)
—
Second consecutive success for Pinerolo, who with the 1-3 on the Perugia pitch moves away from the safety zone and comes closer to Vallegfoglia’s eighth place. Solid match from the Pinelle, even if for just over two sets there was great balance, because the Black Angels responded to the guests’ attempts to escape with the usual excellent Nemeth (Traballi also did well). At a distance, however, the wall of the Piedmontese becomes increasingly insurmountable, and the order of MVP Smarzek’s Wash4Green extinguishes the flames of the locals.
Perugia: Nemeth 28 points, Muri team 6, Ace team 4.
Pinerolo: Smarzek 23 points, Muri team 14 (Cosi 5), Ace team 3.
BUSTO arsizio-CHIERI 0-3 (22-25, 20-25, 22-25)
—
Chieri returns to win and does so on the Busto field, trailing her by 3 points in the standings. The final 0-3 is the result of a match in which the guests are more continuous and orderly, especially in the final stages of the set. Thanks to an always fluid attack (Skinner’s great performance, in terms of effectiveness and efficiency) and the usual block-defense. Eurotek tries especially from 9 meters and always stays close to the match, but apart from Obossa they struggle to put the ball on the ground (bad day for Piva and Kunzler).
Bust: Obossa 17 points, Muri team 5, Ace team 7 (Obossa 3).
Chieri: Skinner 18 points, Muri team 10 (Alberti 5), Ace team 2.
Conegliano – Vallefoglia 3-1 (25-16, 25-18, 22-25, 25-19)
—
Conegliano doesn’t stop and wins at Palaverde 3-1 against Megabox. Santarelli’s sextet finds the key in attack with Zhu Ting (MVP) and Haak (21 and 20 points) together with Gabi (15). Panthers who make very few mistakes (12 errors) compared to the green and whites (22) who in attack, despite Bici’s 21 scores, stop at 36%. Vallefoglia, however, plays an excellent third set, beating the Venetian champions 25 to 22. Victory number 17 for Conegliano and first place secured at 51 points.
Conegliano: Zhu 21 points, team blocks 5, team aces 4.
Vallefoglia: Bike 21 points, team blocks 10, team aces 5.
Bergamo – Roma 3-0 (25-20,25-21,25-18)
—
Bergamo runs fast and sinks Roma in less than 1 hour and a half without Amelie Rotar, signed by the Romanian team Alba Blaj, and with Orvošova and Salas not at their best due to a flu syndrome. Everything was simple for Parisi’s girls who hit the Giallorossi like a hurricane, hitting from every part of the taraflex. For Wolwes 39% in reception and 45% in attack reflect a subdued match, with Bergamo achieving 11 victories in the championship and 33 points in the standings. The situation of the Capitolines is completely different, relegated to the bottom of the table with 10 points.
Bergamo: Cese Montalvo 13 points, team blocks 8 (4 Manfredini), team aces 7 (3 Strubbe).
Rome: Schoelze and Orvosova 9 points, team blocks 5, team aces 4.
Talmassons – Scandicci 1-3 (25-19,19-25,17-25,22-25)
—
A very exciting match at the Latisana sports hall, where the hosts faced the battleship Scandicci head-on, even managing to take the first set from them. Savino del Bene does not stand idly by and, despite Antròpova’s absence, manages to recover by finding the reference offensive terminal in Mingardi (20 points). Excellent game from Carol, MVP of the match, with 14 points (7 blocks) and 50% in attack. Storck (20 points and 44% in attack) and Strantzali (16 points) did well for Talmassons. For the Tuscans, second place is secured at 45 also given the defeat in Novara.
Talmasons: Storck 20 points, team blocks 9 (4 Kocic), team aces 3.
Scandicci: Mingardi 20 points, team blocks 14 (7 Carol), team aces 6.
Cuneo – Novara 3-1(24-26,25-22,26-24,25-21)
—
Cuneo wins the Piedmontese derby against the battleship Novara and does so with a clear and peremptory 3-1. Tolok’s absence was significant, but the ball was mainly in the hands of the hosts. An overflowing Bjelica (Mvp) scores 32 points with 52% in attack, while in Igor Alsmeier he scores 20 points. Painful and heavy defeat for Agil, after a magical period, which allows Milan to recover in the standings (which has one game less). In terms of salvation, a fundamental leap forward for the teams who, with today’s victory, move away from Roma and Talmassons, placing themselves on 14th together with Perugia, defeated at home by Pinerolo.
Wedge: Bjelica 32 points, team blocks 13, team aces 2.
Novara Alsmeier 20 points, team blocks 14, team aces 3.
