(toskanews) – How often does a child’s bad cough worry parents? Is it just a cold or something more serious? A Polish startup looked for a solution by inventing StethoMe (presented at Ces of Las Vegas, the tech fair organized by Cta – Consumer Technology Association), a smart and wireless stethoscope to use at home to let doctors listen to your lungs remotely.
«We reduce unnecessary visits for doctors – explains Pawel Elbanowski, co-founder of the startup – if people have doubts they can be visited from home, they don’t have to physically go to the office and at the same time it allows doctors to make decisions based on objective data» .
The device, also designed for large-scale use in hospitals, records and collects data allowing access to a database with the history of everything relating to the patient’s breathing and heart condition, without having to rely on the subjective account of the progress cough or other symptoms. Sales have so far started in Great Britain, Poland and France.
