The car, a Volkswagen Caddy coming from the direction of Elverdinge, skidded and crashed into a tree. The front wheels of the car broke off and the engine block was thrown away. The fire brigade had to arrive on the scene and found the woman still half conscious, trapped in what remained of her car. The roof was cut loose. Despite her injuries, the woman’s injuries were not life-threatening. She was transferred to the Jan Yperman Hospital.
