A 52-year-old man from Helmond has been arrested for the explosion at an apartment on Kasteel-Traverse in his hometown. Last week a hole was blown in the front door with illegal heavy fireworks.
The explosion happened on January 8 around a quarter past four in the morning. Residents heard a loud bang and called the police. A hole had been blown in the front door. No one was injured.
The police investigation led to the 52-year-old suspect. The man was arrested at his home on Monday. He is suspected of involvement in the explosion. He is still in custody and is being heard. The police have not ruled out that more people will be arrested.
