Russian Championat website anneal Suvi Minkkinen performance in the anchor leg of the mixed doubles relay, during which the lady took Finland to first place in the race.

Minkkinen was by far the best woman in the race, and the Finn was even compared at the entrance of Championat Kaisa Mäkäräinen. Mäkäräinen took a whopping 27 race victories in the World Cup in his career. For Minkki, first place was the first of his career.

Venäläislehti especially praised Minkkinen’s last shooting, where he shot down all the boards under great pressure.

– Suvi’s stress tolerance can only be envied, the news states.

Minkkinen still has a long way to go to Mäkäräinen’s achievements, but the direction is right.

Minkkinen is currently fifth in the biathlon world cup and third in the sprint cup. Mäkäräinen won the entire world cup three times.

On Sunday, Minkki became her mate Tero Seppälän with the first Finnish competition winner of the Biathlon World Cup in five years. The previous victory was taken by Mäkäräinen, when he became number one in Oberhof’s joint start race 2020.

– On to the next one [voittoon] not going 5 years, looks strong for it! Mäkäräinen stated after the race on Instagram.
