Several fires broke out in a residential area in Nuenen last night after fireworks were set off at a nearby roundabout.
The hedge at two houses caught fire. The fire brigade quickly got the fires under control. Because it was cold and wet outside, the fire did not spread very quickly.
The police came to the Geldropsedijk with three cars and temporarily closed off the street. This way the fire brigade could do their work undisturbed.
According to the police officer, the fire started after fireworks were set off. Fireworks remains were found on the roundabout and witnesses also reported this.
