At the beginning of this week, De Lijn made an adjustment on the West Coast by canceling a tram ride during the morning rush hour. The municipal authorities of Koksijde, De Panne and Nieuwpoort received a number of complaints and that is why Sander Loones (Together N-VA) decided together with the other mayor to send a letter to De Lijn itself. “The new scheme burdens commuting to school and commuting on the West Coast,” it said.
De Lijn recognizes the problem and is looking for a solution. The new arrangement was mainly due to the persistent staff shortage.
