It is unbelievable how much filth Marieke Elsinga has been dealing with for quite some time now. She was once considered an up-and-coming talent, but when she started complaining about her extremely difficult radio work, public opinion shifted a bit. In fact, recently Qmusic listeners were even disappointed that she returned from her maternity leave.

After maternity leave, she went back into the studio for RTL 4 to record some episodes of The Jump, which are currently on the channel. “She wasn’t seen for a year, she was also pregnant and on leave and everything. She is now doing The Jump again and that has gotten off to a fairly good start, 835 thousand viewers is not bad,” says Tina Nijkamp.
Ratings authority Tina herself, like Angela de Jong, is not that impressed by it. She continues Tina’s TV Update: “What do I think of her? I always have a bit of a Jan Versteegh feeling about her, which makes me think: would you like to present a game show like that? She doesn’t really have that look.”
‘I have that feeling’
Tina thinks that Marieke does not radiate pleasure. “So I don’t actually know whether she really likes television. I have that feeling as a viewer. I think so, because I think she is very enthusiastic herself, but I have that feeling. In any case, it scores quite well, so she has nothing to complain about.”
According to Angela, the presenter could better focus on RTL Boulevard-like TV, but she has just left that. What does Tina think? “What else she will do at RTL and what her future is, I have no idea.”
More game shows
Tina actually thinks that Marieke wants to continue making this kind of TV, because it takes her so little time. “I think I would like to see more of these types of shows, to be honest, because yes, The Jump is already in its second season and apparently she really likes it herself. So I don’t think we will see her in other types of programs.”
