The fire started around 10:15 PM in a camper that was in the garden. The fire soon spread to the barn, also damaging the house. The fire brigade had the fire under control within an hour. What remains are blackened remains and broken windows due to the heat. “My seven-week-old granddaughter normally sleeps there. Fortunately, they were not at home, otherwise she might not have been there anymore,” Maria says emotionally.
The police have not ruled out that the fire was deliberately lit. For Maria, this is certain: according to her, there is a smear campaign going on against the family. Earlier it was hit at the family’s home in Venhuizen. “Windows have been smashed and tires punctured on our vintage cars. Cars have also been stolen. We also found an unlit Molotov cocktail in the garden. Now it is our son’s turn in Enkhuizen, where are we still safe?”
