Joseph Khalil Aoun becomes the new president of Lebanon. He was just elected by the Lebanese parliament after two rounds of voting. The country has been without a president since October 2022, when Michel Aoun’s term ended after six years. Since then, twelve attempts have been made to elect a new president, the thirteenth time being successful.
