A candy ad in Norway caused an uproar due to its nudity, VG magazine write.
In the advertisement of the Orkla company, skiing star Johannes Klæbo poses shirtless and holds a bag of candy in his hand. The camera zooms in on Klæbo’s sweaty abs.
Due to the avalanche of criticism, the ad is no longer shown on TV. You can watch it from this link.
– We don’t want to provoke anyone. We listened to the feedback and decided to pull the ad, Orkla’s communications manager Elisabeth Ekheim commented to VG.
Specialized in marketing legal matters Frode Haug said the ad “crossed the line”.
– The product was aimed at children and young people, which made this particularly problematic, Haug estimates.
Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation NRK also asked a person treating eating disorders about the ad Vetle from Olsen-Ryum. He wondered why the sports star was stripped for the TV spot.
According to Olsen-Rym, Klæbo’s “unattainable” body can cause unwanted comparison among men.
– Skiers are not porn actresses, Olsen-Ryum shook.
