Coach Alexander Sulzer’s team clearly won the away game in Bavaria 6:2 (2:0, 3:0, 1:2). The Penguins opened the scoring after just 21 seconds.

The start on Wednesday evening was appropriately marked by captain Jan Urbas. And things got even better for Bremerhaven early on: after just nine minutes, Markus Vikingstad increased the lead to 2-0 against the Panthers.

Intoxication with a double pack successful

In the middle third it only took two turns of the pointer before the Penguins celebrated again. Maxim Rausch scored the third goal of what was still a young evening at the time. A little later, Ziga Jeglic extended the Penguins’ clear lead (29th minute), before Rausch scored a brace before the end of the second period (35th).

In the final third, however, the first goal was reserved for the home team. Florian Elias reduced the score to 1:5 (45th): Shortly afterwards, Penguins defender Matt Abt restored the old distance (50th), but in the final phase Alexander Oblinger scored the next goal for the hosts (55th). . In the end it was a confident 6:2 win for the Fischtown Pinguins.

Penguins meet Munich on Friday

With the clear away win, the Bremerhaven team consolidated third place in the German Ice Hockey League. But the penguins have to go on the ice again on Friday. And once again the Bremerhaven team is challenged in Bavaria: At 7:30 p.m., coach Alexander Sulzer’s team will face its current closest rival: fourth-placed EHC Munich.
